1000 pilgrims to visit mosque in Larnaca

Around one thousand people from North Cyprus will cross the border on Saturday for a pilgrimage to Hala Sultan Tekke, a prominent Muslim shrine, οn the west of the Salt Lake in Larnaca, ‘Famagusta Gazette’ reports.

Police will accompany the buses that will transport the pilgrims.

The buses will arrive at the Metehan checkpoint in the capital Nicosia around 10 am and will return around 3 pm.

The paper reports that TripAdvisor issued a Certificate of Excellence to the mosque.

According to the Antiquities Department, the certificate is based entirely on the comments of visitors following their visit to the mosque of Hala Sultan during the previous year.
