According to Yeni Duzen, several receptions and concerts have been cancelled while as it was made known that there will not be any high level representatives of Turkey present.

Also, in a meeting last week headed by President Mustafa Akinci, it was decided that the celebration events on 20th July will take place as of this year and from now on with no tanks, F16 airplanes and heavy military vehicles.

On the same issue, Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris Postasi reports that President Akinci held a meeting with the commanders of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces Command (KTBK) and that they decided to reduce to the minimum the 20th July celebrations.
